WWII veterans photographed by Jose Aguiar at Glen Waverley RSL – Reflections Project

The original article was written when Zoom Studio was named Aguiar Photography.

Reflections is a conjoined project by AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography),  RSL (Returned and Services League of Australia) and AWM (Australian War Memorial) with the objective of photographing all remaining WWII veterans in Australia as part of the commemoration of 70 years since the end of the World War II. The end result will be a book with all these photos that will be presented to the Australian War Memorial. All veterans photographed will also receive their photo printed.

I loved the experience as one of the professional photographers that have helped with this project. I wish I could have done more sessions. It was so good to get to know some very interesting people and to hear and read their stories.

I would like to say thanks to Robbie Hoebe from the RSL Glen Waverley for letting us use one of their rooms for the photo session.

There were more than 5000 veterans registered and most of them were already photographed.

AIPP has stopped its operation and no longer has a website.
